Marilyn E Baker Jenson, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Greenville, Utah, on February 1, 1939, to Vyron Baker and Agnes Jeanette Morris, Marilyn's life was one marked by deep love for her family, her faith, and her heritage.
In October 1956, Marilyn married the love of her life, Joseph LaMoine Jenson, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a beautiful family. Marilyn was the proud mother of five sons and three daughters: Deborah, Brian, Michael, James, Jeffrey, Christina, Joseph, and Jennifer. Over the years, her posterity grew to include 132 grandchildren, 319 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A woman of earnest faith, Marilyn had an abiding testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and an unwavering love for the Prophet Joseph Smith and every principle he restored. She spent many years in Relief Society and other service callings and was always relatable and gracious. Her lifelong passion was genealogy: she spent countless hours searching out her ancestors with a deep sense of connection and reverence. Her love for her heritage led her to visit many of the places where her ancestors once lived, including Wales and England, as well as important LDS Church history sites.
Marilyn was both witty and sentimental, both adventurous and timid, both strong willed and yielding. She had a warm beautiful singing voice and loved listening to music, especially when it was performed by her family. In addition, she was a talented seamstress, gardener, quilter, and homemaker. She was fiercely loyal and her greatest joy was being a wife, sister-wife, mother, and grandmother. Time spent with her family created memories that will last for generations.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Vyron and Agnes Baker, siblings Ronald Baker, Carol Springer, and Paul K. Baker, and her beloved husband, Joseph LaMoine Jenson. She is survived by her vast posterity, and many others blessed to call her Mother, Friend, or Sister.
A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, August 7, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Barn in Harvest Haven (3375 E. Autumn Lane, Eagle Mountain, Utah). A second viewing will take place on Friday morning, August 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the MLA Chapel (157 N. Rockwell Drive, Rocky Ridge, Utah), followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be at the Rocky Ridge Cemetery.
We take comfort in knowing Mom is finally home, reunited with Dad, loved ones, and long-awaited ancestors. What a grand reunion that must be!
