Marion Carolyn Anderson Rapp, age 89, passed away on July 23rd, 2025, in Syracuse, Utah. Marion was born on August 11th, 1935, in
Salt Lake City, Utah, to David Ferguson Anderson and Caroline Trowbridge. Marion met Franklin R. Rapp in
Salt Lake City, Utah, and got married on June 5th, 1958.
Marion is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she also participated in Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was an avid bowler for many years; she loved her pets and squirrels. Marion enjoyed playing games of all sorts, reading books (especially spy novels), watching movies, doing stitchery, and painting ceramics. One of her favorite things to do was also going shopping-lots of shopping.
One of her many favorite activities was spending the summer relaxing at our family cabin. There, she would enjoy her time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, spending their days playing card games. Marion was especially known for teasing the others around her. She was an avid traveler and is now making her final journey back to her husband, Frank, whom she has missed terribly since his death.
Marion is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; daughter-in-law, April Lynn Preston Rapp; parents, David Anderson and Carolyn Trowbridge; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Zen Street and Helen and Lou Greco.
She is survived by her children Karen (Steve), Beverley, Darin (April, deceased) Rapp, Kevin (Mary) Rapp, and Aaron (Sheila) Rapp, and her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A viewing for the family and friends of her son, Kevin Rapp, will be held on Thursday, July 31st, at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple,
Salt Lake City, Utah 84111) from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. On Friday, August 1st, you are invited to join Kevin to be a part of the procession to the graveside service of Marion. Leaving the mortuary at noon and arriving at Salt Lake City Cemetery at 12:15pm.
For additional friends, family, and ward members, a chapel service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to noon on August 1st at Larkin Mortuary (260 East South Temple), with a viewing an hour prior.
