Marilyn J. Barnes age 91 of Amboy passed away on Wednesday June 21, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 9, 1931 in Amboy the daughter of Ernest and Klea (Plume) Spade. Marilyn was a beautician for over 60 years. She married Richard Barnes on July 6, 1952 in Amboy, IL. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 23, 2001, her parents, and half brother John "Mike" Liggett. She is survived by her children Mark S. (Mary Sheridan) Barnes of Amboy, Neil A. Barnes of Amboy, grandchildren Jillian Barnes, and Reed Barnes. Cremation rites have been accorded with a burial of cremains to be held at a later date at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy.
