Marilyn Ann Baumgarn, 82, of Willmar, died Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Cura of Willmar. There will be a private Mass of Christian Burial held a future date. Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson-Johnson Funeral Home. www.hafh.org
Marilyn was born on July 15, 1943, in Webster, SD, the daughter of Theodore and Margaret (Wenger) Breske. She grew up in Waubay where she graduated from high school. On August 31, 1968, she was united in marriage to Terry Baumgarn in Waubay. Following their marriage, they lived in various communities and Marilyn worked as an LPN.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, flower gardening, playing cards and making an "occasional" trip to the casino was never out of the question. Some of her favorite things to enjoy were fried chicken, coffee, Coke and pizza. She also had a sweet tooth, never turning down a piece of candy or a treat.
Surviving are her children, Kim (Udo) Dittmar, Carrie (Wayne) Hoff, Lisa Baumgarn and Rob (Gretchen) Baumgarn; seven grandchildren: Alexandra (David) Henry, Cristian (special friend, Rachel) Dittmar, Paige and Jenna Hoff, Drew, Tate and Briggs Baumgarn and great grandson, Leo. Also surviving are her sister, Dorothy Deringer, brothers-in-law, Norman Baumgarn and Keith Baumgarn and sisters-in-law, Sharon Breske, Virginia Breske, Janet Coyne, and Kristie Baumgarn; her Best Grand-Pup, Indy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Terry, in 2002; grandson, Leighton Frye, five brothers and three sisters.
