Marilyn was renowned for her nut rolls. Marilyn loved her family and devoted herself to them. Marilyn was a retired toll booth collector for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. She is survived by her children, John K. Bertok of Liberty Borough, Karyn Bertok of Liberty Borough, and Mark Bertok and his wife, Kristin of Port Vue, and beloved grandchildren, Austin, Kelsey, and Canon Bertok; her brother, Edwin C. "Bud" Welty, Jr. and his wife, Clara, of East McKeesport, good friend Sally McDermott; also a niece and nephews. Marilyn also leaves behind her cat, Scooter, and grand-dogs, Peppie and Daisy. I have so many wonderful and fun memories of Marilyn especially during our high school years: sneaking in the Pirates games for free, cutting school for Don Hoak's wedding, cruising around Irwin and E McKeesport on warm summer nights, Blue Dell swimming pool and mostly just being silly fun loving girls on our way to adulthood. Friend, you have sewn wildflowers by the sideroads of my life...until we meet again. xoxoox

I knew Mare through my sister Sally. We went out with them a few times, would see her at Sally's some times and after she was sick Sally would stop on the days they went out and she always remembered me. Sally would bring her to my house for Christmas dinners and even a fish fry or 2. I remember the nut roll. We purposely would try to drive through her booth on the turnpike just to say hello. I will always remember her great sense of humor. It was always good seeing her. She was a good person. My sympathy to those who stood by her all these years. She was very lucky to have that much love around her. Bet she'll be watching down on everyone with a rum and coke in her hand smileing. RIP Mare. This is the last fish fry she was at my house. 2017
