Marilyn Blom

Marilyn Blom (Mannino) passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at the age of 77.

She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Albin Blom Jr.; her brother, Donald; and her parents, Thomas and Ida Mannino. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family: her brother, Daniel; her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Janet; and her sister-in-law, Linda; as well as her nieces, nephews, and their children; along with her extended family and many friends.

Marilyn graduated from Westfield High School in 1966 and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in History/ Education from Ithaca College. She began her professional career at Dun & Bradstreet and later worked at Lord & Taylor.

Marilyn was always authentically herself and lived life on her own terms. If a song she liked played, especially a Beatles tune, she could not resist singing along, whether she was in a car, a café, or the middle of a crowd.

She truly enjoyed her adventures near and far with her lifelong friends, as well as her beach trips to Long Beach Island and Avalon with her family. While she was not one to bask in the sun, she had her own beach routine down to a science-always under an umbrella, covered by a towel, and wearing one of her signature straw hats.

Marilyn will be remembered for her ever-present smile and her boundless love for those around her. She adored her four-legged daughters, Molly, Jessy, and Hailey, and doted on her nieces and nephews. When she became a great-aunt, she joyfully took on the moniker of "Aunt Mara" and was always ready with hugs, laughter, and adoration.

Though in her later years, her illness gradually took her memories and her words; it was never able to take her spirit. Her face still lit up at the sight of loved ones; a lasting reflection of the deep affection she held close to her heart.

A memorial visitation will be held at The Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Avenue, Westfield, NJ on Saturday, October 18th from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm, with a service beginning at 12:15 pm. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the ASPCA, The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration or The Wounded Warrior Project.
