Rochester: Passed away on February 27, 2026 at the age 78. She was predeceased by her parents, William Cohn and Hannah Daken Cohn; brother, Mark Cohn; her Aunt Lottie Daken; and many other aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, James M. Buran; daughter, Johanna Buran; granddaughters, May Honey and CiCi Cho; nephews and many dear friends.
Marilyn was an employee of BOCES/Primary Project. She enjoyed reading, her family and her friends.
A special Thank You to all the staff of the Jewish Home on the 6 th Floor South West for their kindness and care during her time there.
A Graveside Service will be held on MONDAY March 2, 2026 at 11 AM in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to gather at the Main Gate [across the street from the Distillery]. CLICK HERE for a map to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends and Foundation of the Rochester Public Library – Maplewood Library or a charity of one's choice in Marilyn's memory.
