Marilyn Kay Butz, 81, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at her residence.

She was born June 11, 1944, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Robert and Helen (Schroeder) Freeland.
Marilyn graduated from Ambia High School in 1962. On October 14, 1967, she married John Butz in Dunnington, IN.
Marilyn worked as a Secretary for State Farm for years.

Marilyn enjoyed attending High School sporting events, especially Central Catholic events, and watching the Chicago Cubs and Purdue Boilermakers on television.

She is survived by her 2 children, Kevin Butz of Lafayette and daughter, Kristine (Joe) Davis of New Castle; 4 sisters, Rose Anne (Brian) Rogers, Roberta Strasburger, Marge (Stan) Garrison, and Barb (Carl) Lerner; and 3 brothers, Ron Freeland, Rich Freeland and Frank Freeland.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her Husband, John Butz.

Memorial contributions in Marilyn's name may be given to St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry Street, Lafayette, IN 47904.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am until time of Mass at 11:30 am, Monday, September 8, 2025, at St. Lawrence, 1916 Meharry St, Lafayette, IN 47904.
