MARILYN E. (UNION) CRAMPTON, a lifelong resident of Woburn, passed away peacefully on December 14th at the age of eighty-two. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul D. Crampton, with whom she shared sixty wonderful years of marriage.
Born and raised in Woburn, Marilyn remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted parishioner of St. Barbara's Church, where her faith guided her life and values.
Throughout her working life, Marilyn was known for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic. She was employed for many years at the MITRE Corporation, where she worked as a legal secretary until her retirement. Even after retiring, Marilyn remained active and engaged, later working part-time for nine years at New Horizons in Woburn. She continued in that role until her illness, valuing both the work and the relationships she formed there.
Marilyn and Paul built a life centered on family, tradition, and time spent together. For many years, they enjoyed summers at Newfound Lake and Hampton Beach, creating lasting memories with their family. In retirement, they treasured winter months spent in Naples, Florida, where Marilyn especially enjoyed the warmth and slower pace of life.
Marilyn enjoyed golfing and proudly achieved a hole-in-one, bowled in a league for many years, and had a talent for knitting and crocheting, often making handmade gifts for family and friends. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always supporting them and celebrating their milestones.
