Marilyn Jessie (Seip) Dennis passed away on July 30, 2025. She was born on April 28, 1934, in Bayard, Nebraska, to Charles and Laura Seip. She attended a one-room schoolhouse through the sixth grade, where she was surrounded by mostly boys and quickly learned how to keep up with them in both play and spirit. When she was 9 years old, Marilyn earned a Bible memorizing scripture.

Her family moved to Idaho when she was in the seventh grade. Marilyn met Bob Dennis at Wilder high school and had eyes only for him. The two married on November 25, 1951, and moved to California, where Bob was stationed in the Navy. After four years and two children, Barbara and David, they returned to Idaho and settled in Wilder, where they farmed for many years. Their family was completed with the arrival of their daughter Gayle.

In her younger years, Marilyn worked at a soda shop, in the cherry sheds, at The Furrow Café in Wilder, at RAK's dry goods in Homedale, and as a waitress at Bud's in Parma. She was a member of the TSO Club for over 70 years, forming many lifelong friendships. She volunteered at the Gift Shop at West Valley Hospital, where she enjoyed creating window displays and visiting with customers.

Marilyn was a devoted farm wife, working alongside Bob in all seasons. She often brought meals out to the fields during harvest and even drove grain trucks when needed. Having been a Navy wife, she was deeply patriotic and proudly displayed the American flag every day.

A wonderful cook, Marilyn made everything from scratch, canned and froze produce, and prepared delicious home-cooked meals; always wearing an apron in the kitchen. She had a passion for yard sales and an eye for unique collectibles and décor. She had her own style, insisting on wearing lipstick even for a trip to the grocery store.

Marilyn loved to travel and was known for saying, "Go while you can." She and Bob enjoyed hunting for arrowheads in the Owyhee Mountains and often came home with treasures.

Marilyn attended Mountain View Church of the Nazarene for 36 years. Even after moving to Nampa, she continued to join numerous bible studies and enjoyed fellowship.

Above all, Marilyn was a warm, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara (Von) Bowman and Gayle (Mark) Brintnall; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, brother-in-law, two nephews, son David, and her beloved husband Bob.

A graveside service will be held at Wilder Cemetery, August 22nd at 10 o'clock. 11 o'clock service following at the Mountain View Church of the Nazarene in Wilder.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain View Church of the Nazarene.
