Marilyn Dillingham Obituary
Marilyn C. Dillingham, 80, of Chester, NE, passed away on February 26, 2026. She was born July 8, 1945 in Deshler, NE, the daughter of Martin and Evelyn E. (Lutz) Schlife.
Marilyn attended and graduated from Chester High School and later the Lincoln Business College, Lincoln, NE. For many years, she was a finance manager for Citi Corp and several car dealers before her retirement. In her later years, she operated Love My Backyard in Belleville, Kansas.
On January 2, 1981, she was united in marriage to Norman Dillingham. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2018. Marilyn and Norm made their home in Chester, Nebraska after living in Hawaii while Norm was still working.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Evelyn Schlife; husband Norman Dillingham; granddaughter, Sara Varney, grandson, John Varney; Brothers, Leo Schlife and John Schlife; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Devries.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Michael J. (Karen) Varney and Robin M. (Lloyd) Laue; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; step-daughters, Gayle (Allen) Beck and Laurie (John) Pierle; brothers, Steve (Judi) Schlife & Tom Schlife; many other relatives, and so many beloved friends.
Cremation was selected and family memorial services and inurnment will take place at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Charles, Missouri at a later date.
