Marilyn DeWitt Dotson, age 71, of Lenoir City, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025. Marilyn dedicated her life to faith, family, and service to others. She was saved at the age of 11 at South Holston Baptist Church and remained a devoted member of the Christian community throughout her life, attending Shady Grove Baptist Church and most recently, Centerview Baptist Church. Marilyn taught Sunday School and Bible School, sharing her love of the Lord with countless children and having a special place in her heart for feeding the elderly, sick and disabled. An accomplished artist, Marilyn enjoyed crafting, painting, and working with flowers. She had a heart for children, having started her own daycare. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, known for her warmth, love of cooking, and nurturing spirit.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Dotson; her parents, Hollis and Julia DeWitt; her brothers, Eddie, Dan, and Buford DeWitt; her sister, Joyce Anderson; and her in-laws, Clyde and Pauline Dotson; sister-in-law, Sandra Docteur.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 54 years, Gary Dotson; her daughters, Misti Dotson, Miranda Eads (Randy), and Kayla Dotson (fiancé Brian Margrave); her grandchildren, Brett Sande, Myla Bolling; her great-grandchildren, Rozalin, Leighton, and Memphis Sande, and Rylen Hall; her sisters, Brenda Enoch (Ed) and Robbi Schrimpser (Mike); sisters-in-law, Patricia Amburn (Lamar), Carolyn McGee (Buddy), Deborah Roberts, and Karen Phillips (Jack) and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31st, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Sammy Thomas and Rev. Mike Schrimpser. On Friday, family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 9:00 a.m. and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for a 9:30 a.m. graveside services.
