Marilyn was born in Lexington KY, the daughter of Charles Fleming Krewson and Hazel Hakes Krewson. The oldest of three, Marilyn was valediction of her class at Springfield HS, attended the University of Pennsylvania on a full scholarship, and graduated from Penn Summa Cum Laude. She received her master's degree in Education from Beaver College. A special education teacher, Marilyn was a life-long learner. She loved teaching children, and every moment was a teaching-learning experience. She enjoyed her memberships in the Philadelphia Trail Club, Art Museum, Friends of the Wissahickon, Nature Conservancy, and others. She was an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling often to many states and countries where she enjoyed meeting people, hiking and theater. She preferred to travel off the beaten path, where she could learn about different cultures. She shared these values with her children and grandchildren, ensuring they were well educated, participated in numerous activities, traveled, and had ample opportunities for learning. The family hosted foreign exchange students, took day trips to New York and DC, and spent time at the Jersey shore and Pocono mountains. Marilyn was a highly intelligent woman who cared very deeply about politics, the environment, her community and world events. She enjoyed sharing her opinions and engaging in intellectual conversation. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 66 years Harry; brother Stephen Krewson; son Hank Edenborn and wife Sherie; daughters Jennifer Edenborn and Nora Sheldon Edenborn Blessner. Granddaughters Abigail Edenborn, Emily Blessner, Audrey Blessner, Danielle Blessner; grandsons Carter Vrooman and Jack Vrooman. Relatives and friends are invited to Marilyn's Memorial Service, Friday, 8/17, 11am at Grace Lutheran Church, Wyndmoor. Friends may visit with the family at 10am. Interment Private.
