Marilyn From, long time resident of Bloomington, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2024 at Northern Pines in Pine City at the age of 91.
Marilyn Ann Person was born September 11, 1932 to Ben and Anna (Larson) Person in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Although she grew up on a forty-acre farm in Elm Park near Stanchfield, Minnesota, Marilyn always thought of herself as a city girl. After graduating from Braham High School at 17, Marilyn moved to Minneapolis and never looked back.
In 1953, Marilyn married Vernal From of Cambridge, Minnesota. They lived in North Minneapolis and Richfield before moving to Bloomington where they raised their three daughters.
Vernal worked for Northwest Airlines, a job that opened a world of travel that the whole family eagerly embraced. Marilyn’s travels included six continents, the highlights being an African Safari and a trip to India to see the Taj Mahal. Vern & Marilyn also enjoyed cruising, going on a total of forty-two cruises.
Marilyn is survived by daughters Judy (Brian) Scholin of Pine City, Kari (Kim) Piehl/Sannes of Seattle, Washington, Debra (Jim) Hanson of Richland, Washington; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Anna Person; husband Vern From.
Funeral services for Marilyn: 10:30 AM; Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Wooddale Church ~ Eden Prairie Campus, 6630 Shady Oak Road, Eden Prairie. Immediately following the funeral service, a funeral luncheon/reception will be served all in the Great Room at the church. The interment will take place at 2:00 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
