It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen B. McGrath who left this world on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at United Hospital in St. Paul at the age of 64.

Karen Bissonette was born September 16, 1961 to Robert and Lorraine (Devine) Bissonette in Trenton, New Jersey.

To know her was to know strength. Karen was the kind of woman who could walk through life's hardest moments and still show up for the people around her. She loved being with others - talking, laughing, listening, and making connections wherever she went. She had a way of making people feel empowered, whether they had known her for years or had just met her.

Life didn't always give her the easiest road, but she never waited for it to become fair. She fought for what she had, and kept going even when it would've been easier to give up. She faced her struggles the way she faced everything: head-on, with grit, determination, and a refusal to let life define her.

Above all, Karen was a mother. She raised three boys on her own and did it the only way she knew how - by giving everything she had. She wasn't perfect, and she never pretended to be. But she loved deeply, tried her hardest, and gave her sons the kind of example you don't forget: how to keep standing when things get tough.

She will be remembered for her toughness, her heart, her presence, and the way she kept moving forward to matter what. Her life was not always easy, but it was real. And it's those remaining that will carry on her legacy and make it remembered.

Karen is survived by her children Jeremy McGrath, Josh McGrath and Jerard (Joey) McGrath; grandchildren Jaden, Avery, Dom; one great-grandchild, River; along with other connected families that became a set of her life - the Kegley's, the Fealy's, the Hughes' and more!

Gathering for family and friends of Karen: 2:00-6:00 PM; Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Froggy's Bar & Grill in Pine City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Karen's family.
