Marilyn Katherine Gulick

Marilyn Katherine Gulick, age 89, of Roscommon, died on Friday, February 27, 2026, at her home in the presence and comfort of her family.

Marilyn was born October 17, 1936, in Detroit MI, the daughter of Francis and Genevieve Waterman. She was born at home along with her twin sister Marlene. She graduated from the all-girls Felician Academy in Detroit. Shortly after graduating, her family moved to Roscommon.

She worked at several different jobs, including waitressing at Baum's Café where she met the love of her life Veryl, in home child care, Gavins's grocery store, 10 years at the Air-way Lodge and a receptionist at Fifth Street Salon. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching and playing bingo. Above all else her faith and her family were the center of her life.

Marilyn will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her children: Carol (Russ) Cavanagh of Roscommon, Elaine (Dean) Wachner of Conroe Texas, Lori (Pat, Jr.) Mattingly of Roscommon and Robert (Shawn) Gulick of Roscommon; grandchildren: Jeanne Cavanagh, Larry Cavanagh, Rebecca (Nick) Lademan, Jennifer (Paul Kalka) Wachner, David (Megan Marek) Wachner, Morgan (Jeff) Bayley, Lauren Gulick, Taylor (Jake) Howard, Jacob (Darian) Thayer; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Theodore, Emersyn, Alexis, Chloe, Ryann, Bennett, Ella, Anniston, Grayson, Jackson, Alaina, Hanna, Tate, Mason, Wrenley; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is also survived by her twin sister, Marlene Kulczynski; sister, Marie Waterman; brother, Bob (Alice) Waterman; sister-in-law, Roberta Waterman; and sister-in-law, Betty Gulick.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Veryl Gulick; her daughter, Jeanne Marie Gulick, sister, Kathy (Mike) Butler; brother, Del Waterman; brother-in-law, Tom Kulczynski; brother-in-law, LeRoy Gulick; sister-in-law, Barbara Gulick.

The family would like to thank The Brook of Roscommon for their wonderful care of Marilyn for the last 9 years.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with the Rosary at 7:00 PM, at Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, 143 Lake Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 104 North 6th Street, Roscommon, Michigan 48653.

If so desired, the family prefers memorial contributions be made in Marilyn's name to the Roscommon County Community Foundation or St. Michael Catholic Church.
