Marilyn Ann Hewson, born May 25, 1948, in New Orleans, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Mandeville, Louisiana. She was 77 years old.
Marilyn lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and a deep love for her family. A dedicated Eucharistic Minister, she also served as an educator for over 30 years for the archdiocese of New Orleans, and found great purpose in service to her church community. She was also an avid gardener whose love of tending flowers and plants brought beauty to everyone around her. Marilyn cherished traveling to the mountains, where she found peace in nature—but more than anything, she treasured every moment spent with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Hewson, and her children Todd Hewson (Tiffany) and Lynn Rabalais (David). Marilyn is also survived by her siblings Wayne (Suzanne) Pike, Lisa (Perry) Achee, and Chris (Janet) Pike.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Austin Ladner, Shelby Yokum, Nathan Hewson, Ashlynn Rabalais, and Blake Rabalais, and her great-grandchildren Marleigh Ladner, Carter Ladner, and Eleanor Hewson, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Ira A. Pike and Delores Pike, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
Marilyn will be remembered for her warmth, her compassion, and the unwavering love she offered to all who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her influence will remain forever in the hearts of those she loved.
