Marilyn "Penny" Ingemann, age 77, of Newport, MN passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN, surrounded by her husband and children.
Visitation will be from 12 - 2 PM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S.; Cottage Grove, MN with Memorial Service at 2 PM. Following the service, all are invited to the Cloverleaf Bar & Grill; 2146 Hastings Avenue; Newport, MN for a light lunch. Interment will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
Penny was born January 23, 1947 in St Paul, MN to Francis and Marie (Moritz) Carpenter. She graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul, MN in 1965. Penny was united in marriage to the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) Ingemann on October 6, 1973. She was a hairstylist at Penny's Hair Salon in St. Paul Park for many years. Penny also worked at 3M for over 16 years.
Penny enjoyed camping, reading, cooking and especially spending time with family. She was an amazing 'spitfire' of a woman that was known for her awesome stories, great advice and the wonderful meals that could feed an army. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by husband of 51 years Thomas "Tom" Ingemann; sons Brad (Melissa) Ingemann and Chris (Nichole) Ingemann; grandchildren Paige "Nex", Chase, Mack "Adrian", Austin, Brenna and Bryce; siblings Harold Nenow and Richard Carpenter with many nieces and nephews. Penny is preceded in death by her parents Francis Carpenter (father), Marie Nenow (mother), Harold Nenow (stepdad) and Kay Carpenter (stepmom).
