Marilyn Joaquin Miranda

1949 - 2026

Houston, Texas - On February 12, 2026, Marilyn Joaquin Miranda, 76, peacefully passed at Houston Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her loving husband of 53 years, Dr. Larry M. Miranda, Jr., her three children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Lovingly known as Lynn, she was born on September 12, 1949, in Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines. She spent her elementary and high school years in Rosales as an honor student and debate champion. She studied at the University of Santo Tomas and later majored in Office Management at the University of the East.

In 1982, she and her three children joined her husband in Corpus Christi, Texas. She worked at the Community Blood Bank in Corpus Christi and later managed the Children's Clinic of Harlingen.

Lynn was known for her generous heart, infectious laugh, and deep devotion to family and friends. She never missed a birthday, loved cooking traditional meals to show her love, enjoyed dancing, and never met a Scrabble board she didn't like. Her home was always open - "what's mine is yours" was how she lived. From the Philippines to South Texas, she loved sincerely and wholeheartedly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Atty. Felix Joaquin and Paz Canonizado Joaquin, and her brothers, Eddie and Noel Joaquin.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Dr. Larry M. Miranda, Jr., her children, Dexter (Maggie), Mona Lisa, and Lister (Romy), her grandchildren, Miranda, Brendon, Noah, Ethan, Alijah, Dexter Jr., Athena, and Devin, and her great-grandchildren, Greyson, Logan, and Cole.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at Seaside Funeral Home, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 25 from 4pm to 8pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7pm. A funeral mass will take Thursday, February 26 at St. Pius X Church at 10am. 5620 Gollihar Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78412. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
