Marilyn Ilene (Massey) O'Steen, 89 passed away at home on July 18, 2025, Lakeland, FL.
Born August 5, 1935, in Warwick GA to parents James Elonzo and Mary Pauline (Gordon) Massey. Marilyn and her family moved to Lakeland in 1948.
Marilyn retired from Publix Produce Buyers department on January 10, 1997.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother who loved her family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and 5 of her 6 siblings, her husband of 58 years, Devare (Bo) O'Steen, her oldest daughter, Vicky O'Steen and oldest son Glenn O'Steen.
Marilyn is survived by her children Paula O'Steen, Dennis O'Steen and Debbie O'Steen, 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was a grandmother figure (mema) to many. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was a loyal friend and will be remembered for her kind heart.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lanier Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Griffin Road Lakeland, FL 33805. Burial services will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Immediately after the burial the family will host a reception for friends and family at Kathleen Heritage Park, 8950 N Campbell Rd, Lakeland Fl 33810.
