Marilyn M. Phifer, 80, of
Chalfont, PA, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was the beloved wife of 45 years to Gerald J. Phifer.
Born in
Vestal, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Post and Marion Farmer Post and sister of the late Bernie Post and Barbara DePaul.
Marilyn possessed a gentle warmth that instantly put people at ease, making her home feel like yours within minutes. She loved fiercely, whether cheering at her boys' games, dancing to Elvis or the Beatles, or watching Penn State football. Summers meant the beaches of Wildwood, NJ, and some of her happiest days were the simple ones, like going to lunch and shopping with her sister. Her home was a sanctuary, famous for legendary cookies and for the multiple fridges, freezers, and pantries that were never empty-just in case someone was hungry. Even as Alzheimer's affected her memory in recent years, it never stole the pleasant spirit and enduring warmth that defined her. She leaves behind a family and community forever comforted by her quiet strength and boundless love.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Cynthia Slagle and her husband Robert of Lafayette Hill, PA, Gerald Phifer of Conshohocken, PA, Jason Phifer and his wife Krista of Philadelphia, PA, Christopher Phifer and his wife Jesu of Conshohocken, PA, and her brother William Post and his wife Miriam of Maryville, TN. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Robert III, Theodore, Caroline, Katie, Julia, and Melanie and two great-grandchildren Harper and Riley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 10:15AM until her Funeral Mass, 11:15AM in St. Jude Church, 321 W. Butler Ave.
Chalfont, PA 18914. Her interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery.
