Marilyn Louise Podgorski (nee) Tworek
It is with deep sorrow that we sadly announce the passing of our dear mother, Marilyn Louise Podgorski (nee Tworek) on August 8, 2025, at the age of 91.
Marilyn was a loving mother and grandmother and was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom and love.
She always put others needs before her own.
Loving wife of Raymond Podgorski for 67 years.
Beloved daughter of Albert and Helen Tworek.
Devoted mother to Michael (Deborah), James (Maria) and Laura (John).
Cherished grandmother to Daniel, Lauren, Rachel and Sarah.
Dear sister of Donald, JoAnn and Connie.
Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn devoted her life to family friends and her faith.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, sewing and feeding the squirrels and birds in her back yard.
She was a member of the Council of Catholic women and volunteered at St. Gertrudes school as a Lunch Lady and Librarian.
She worked at A&P in the shipping office, Gladstone Realtors as a Secretary and worked at the Franklin Park Library as a Librarian for many years.
We welcome all family and friends to join us in celebrating the life of Marilyn who was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all.
Visitation will be at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4pm- 8pm and Friday, August 15, at 9:30am.
Procession to St. Gertrude Catholic Church will follow.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:30am at St. Gertrude Catholic Church 9613 Schiller Blvd, Franklin Park, IL 60131.
Interment to follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery 8600 N. Milwaukee Ave. Niles, IL 60714.
