Marilyn Di Robbio, a vibrant soul known for her kindness and passionate spirit, passed away on May 17, 2025, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune City, NJ.
Born on Thursday, November 6, 1941, in Lebanon, PA, to Donald and Dorothy Riffert, Marilyn's life journey began with a sense of adventure that would define her years.
After moving to New Jersey as a young girl, Marilyn became a proud graduate of Chatham High School. Her life blossomed further when she met the love of her life, Ralph Di Robbio. Their love was a testament to devotion, and together they settled in Howell, NJ, creating a life filled with joy and family.
Her passions were as fiery as her spirit. Marilyn's love for fast cars and the thrill of racing was ignited in the 1950s when she joined the Powder Puff racing team. This need for speed was a joyful pursuit that exemplified her spirited approach to life. She also cherished her trips to Atlantic City with her beloved Ralph, where they shared moments of excitement and companionship. The simple pleasures of life, like going to the beach and watching her favorite shows, Dr. Phil and Judge Judy, were sources of relaxation and joy for Marilyn.
Professionally, Marilyn's voice was a comforting presence for many, as she worked for years as an operator for a medical answering service. Her colleagues knew her as a reliable and warm-hearted individual who brought a personal touch to her work.
Above all, Marilyn devoted her life to caring for her husband, Ralph. She loved him dearly and took wonderful care of him, especially during their last few years together. Her dedication to Ralph was a shining example of her loving nature. Family was paramount to Marilyn, and she developed an especially strong bond with her granddaughter Dylan, who lived with and cared for Marilyn in her last few years. Their connection was a testament to the power of family and the reciprocal nature of care and affection. Marilyn will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Donald and Dorothy, and by her beloved husband of 34 years, Ralph Di Robbio in 2022
Marilyn is survived by her children, Marcy Di Robbio and Mark Mermelstein; stepsons, James Di Robbio and his wife Lori, and Ralph Di Robbio; her caring siblings, Donna Rycyk and Thomas Riffert; and her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Di Robbio, Dylan Di Robbio, Morgan Anthony, Michael Mermelstein, and Michael Gordon.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 111 Main Street, Matawan, NJ 07747.
The family will be gathering at the funeral home on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., before departing for Woodbridge Memorial Gardens for a 1:00 p.m. committal service.
