Marilyn Viola Rutkowski

Marilyn Viola Rutkowski (née McMillan) passed away on June 20, 2024, in Wheaton, Illinois, at the age of 86. Marilyn was born on September 10th, 1937, in Corry Pennsylvania.
After finishing school, she followed her dream and moved to Clearwater Florida. where she met her husband of 50 plus years, Henry.
In addition to being a wonderful mother, she worked in several positions in the medical field. She had a great love of animals, her own and her grand animals.
She joined a quilt club and found a true love and joy for the art form. Her love for the art showed in the quality of her quilts, winning several first places and best of show at the quilt shows. She had a great sense of adventure and loved to travel and try new things. She loved social gatherings, such as playing cards with friends, going on cruises with friends. Her greatest joy was when her grandchildren came to visit.
Family was the centerpiece of Marilyn's life. She is survived by her daughters, Kim and Amy Rutkowski; her sister, Maxine Grabowski; nephew, Jim Grabowski; niece, Kelley Grabowski; grandchildren, Joseph and Emma Dominguez, Keira Fahey; and her daughter Beth Rutkowski Fahey and her husband Jeff Fahey. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Michael Rutkowski, and her parents Alice and Charles McMillan.
Marilyn's life will be celebrated Thursday, July 18th at Beach Funeral Home, located at 1689 South Patrick Drive, Indian Harbour Beach, Florida.
Viewing hours will be from 9:30 - 10am with a funeral service at 10 am. Her burial will follow immediately at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at 2:00 pm where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Henry Michael Rutkowski.
Marilyn's warmth, generosity, and the quilted tapestries of her life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
