Marilyn G. Schaefer, 89, died Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at her home in Lakewood. Born in Queens, NY, she lived in Wellington, FL for 15 years before moving to Lakewood in 2010. Marilyn worked as the Executive Administrator for the New York Mets for 30 years. Both Marilyn and her husband George were the couple their family always wanted at the Seasonal Events. Christmas, New Year, Birthdays, Christenings. It was Marilyn and George who made us all laugh and kept us up till all hours with great stories and laughter. They were truly the life of the party hands down. While Marilyn could be stubborn at times, she had a good heart, was very forgiving, and had an infectious laugh that you would never forget. She loved all of her cousins and nephews deeply. Marilyn was also a lover of dogs. She had quite a few over her lifetime. She loved them all and I sure hope she can reunite with them again. She is predeceased by her husband George A in 1996. Surviving is her nephew, Scott Peters along with his children Susan, Andrew and Christopher. Kirk and Jennifer Peters, along with their son Jesse. Brad and Alicia Peters. Patricia Peters, Michelle Peters and Katie Peters. And her cousins the Suss Family. Bobby, Linda, Frankie, Richard and Kenneth, Marilyn had three grandchildren. Luke, Cooper & Charlotte. Those of us who knew her will miss her deeply. Cremation is private.
