Aunt Marilyn was indeed loving ... and I have a handful of happy childhood memories with her that will live on in memory, with love: jumping on her bed (with Jane) as we tried on her numerous wigs ... followed by her allowing me to play her piano.
I also have some vivid memories of walking around Dandelion Park together, circa 197?... unsure if we rode the Rollercoaster together? *I know I did with Grandpa several times, but I digress. Also engraved on my heart is watching The Wizard of Oz in Granny & Grandpa's living room (on the davenport, as Granny would say) ... while eating whipped cream eggs from Quality Candy, and lots of jelly beans. I flash-back to that scene whenever I watch/see that classic movie ... and share the memory with my loves Rob & Olivia. And, yet another memory...that every-once-in-a-while occurs, usually when I'm driving, and I hear "Sweet Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby, Stills & Nash on a classic radio station ... I think.anout sitting out at Lake Beulah, on the yard of the original "boat house" ... with my sibs Jane & Steven McGeeven, Aunt Marilyn, Rosie, Margie, my dad & mom, Uncles Paul, Tommy, Phil, Matthew -- not all at the same time, of course, but we spent hours out there in the early days, just enjoying nature & having picnics. (Jane & I often were master-minding some kind of practical joke to make Marilyn & Rosie laugh -- again, i digress). I just remember Aunt Marilyn getting some real "pep in her step" when this song came on, for the whole song, but especially at the last part: "Doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo!" Anyway, that song will forever remind me of Marilyn and those classic, early times. I'm pretty sure she's dancing to that song right now, along with others ... & singing along with Pavarotti, and all the Christmas carols that she so loved.
Fly high, now, with the angels, sweet Auntie. Thank you for the gift of good memories, and for loving all of us.
I hope you are loving Heaven.
Love your niece,
Laura
