RIVER OAKS - Marilyn Ruth Statum, 74, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite A, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2024, in Live Oak Chapel at Greenwood, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
Marilyn was born on December 26, 1949, to Elbert Miner and Gladys Faye Miner in Pearblossom, California. Marilyn grew up in a big family as one of six children. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness. She lived a beautiful and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Her family has many memories of spending Sundays at her mother's home in Weatherford, Texas while the sibling's children were growing up. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her warm smile, and her generosity. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. Friends and family would often find her working on a home renovation project or in the yard. Marilyn loved to stay busy. She worked for many years as a kindergarten aide at Castleberry Elementary and was a long-time member of Castleberry Church of Christ.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Miner; her mother, Gladys Faye Miner; and her brother, Rodney Miner.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 40 years, Max; her daughter, Lisa Bailey of Dallas, Texas; her sons, Bryan Bailey and Timothy Statum and his partner, Jessi Reed, both of River Oaks, Texas; and two grandchildren, Scarlett of Tempe, Arizona and Garrett of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Glenn Miner and wife, Donna; her sisters, Margie Seacrest, Susan Reed and husband, Earl and Julie Brand Zehner; sister-in-law, Cheryl Miner;
as well as countless nieces and nephews, all who loved her.
