Thomas Statum Obituary
Thomas Brian Statum, age 57
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas on April 16th, 2025. Thomas passed at home comfortably, surrounded by family. He was born on December 13th, 1967, in Portland Oregon to Dean and Rose.
Thomas was a machinist for 20 years. He enjoyed hiking, bicycling, and tubing down the Kishwaukee river in the summer while listening to his favorite music on 96.7 or 104.9. He also was an avid Bears fan. He loved spending time with his family especially during the holidays. His family was truly his world.
Thomas is survived by his son Devon (Amy) Statum and Trista (Dakota) Statum. His grandchildren Levi, Logan, Lorelai, Londyn, Liana, and the 6th due in November. His brothers Bob (Tonya) Statum and Chuck (Stasia) Statum; sister-in-law, Kathy Statum. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his mother Rose Sweeny, father Dean Statum, brothers Jimmy Statum and Mike Statum, and son Brian Statum.
His family would like to give a special thanks for all the love and care that was given to Thomas over the years to Erica and Ben Salamone, Molly NP from DM Home Medical, Sheila from Serenity, and care givers Alison, Chris, and Nicole.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108.
