Marilyn Sullivan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on Dec. 27, 2025.
Marilyn Sullivan, of Milton, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Christmas day at Alliance Health Care in Quincy. Born on June 1, 1937, to the late Thomas and Helen (Shea) Sullivan, Marilyn's presence was a constant source of joy and strength to those who knew her. She was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Donald B. Falvey and the cherished sister of Marjorie Sullivan of Milton.

Marilyn's academic journey was rooted in Boston, where she attended Girls High School, followed by Burdette Business College, laying the foundation for a career characterized by commitment and excellence. Upon completing her education, she embarked on a remarkable professional path that spanned over four decades. Marilyn's role as an Administrative Assistant at the State House in Boston for the House of Representatives was not merely a job; it was a testament to her enduring passion for public service. Her diligent work continued until her retirement from the Office of Auditor Joseph DeNucci, marking the end of an era of exceptional dedication to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Her involvement with the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee was another facet of Marilyn's unwavering commitment to civic engagement. As a member, she contributed her voice and efforts to the political landscape of her beloved state, advocating for the values and policies she held dear. Marilyn's presence in the committee was marked by her insightful perspectives and an unyielding drive to foster democratic processes.

As we bid farewell to Marilyn Sullivan, we reflect on a life lived with grace, purpose, and an abundance of love. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as her presence once did. The world is indeed a better place for having had Marilyn in it, and her light will continue to shine in the countless lives she touched. Though she may be gone, Marilyn's spirit will forever remain a part of the fabric of the community she so faithfully served.

Relatives and friends invited to attend a Graveside Service at Milton Cemetery Friday January 2nd at 11:00 am.
