Robert Salhaney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on Feb. 6, 2026.
Robert E. Salhaney, affectionately known as Bobby to his friends and family, passed away on February 4, 2026. Born to the late Albert and Rose (Affsa) Salhaney, Bobby was a cherished brother to John and Steven Salhaney, both of Quincy. His life was a tapestry woven with many cousins and friends who will remember him fondly for his loving nature and adventurous spirit.

Bobby was a proud graduate of North Quincy High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. His passion for the culinary arts led him to a fulfilling career as a chef, where he delighted the palates of many at Creative Gourmet and Tony's Clam Shop on Wollaston Beach, Pizza Hut, Big J's Sandwich Shop (which his parents owned) and Stop & Shop. Bobby's dedication to his craft was evident in every dish he created, and his love for cooking was as much a part of him as his generous smile.

Those who knew Bobby understood that his love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He cherished the moments spent with his loved ones and embraced every opportunity to make memories that would last a lifetime. His kind and loving nature extended beyond his family, touching the lives of everyone he met.

Bobby's adventurous spirit was matched by his commitment to his country. He served honorably in the US Army, a testament to his strength and character. His service was a point of pride, and he carried the discipline and respect he learned in the military throughout his life.

To describe Bobby as loving and kind barely scratches the surface of the man he was. His adventurous soul led him to explore and savor life's experiences, always with a sense of joy and wonder. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we bid farewell to Robert E. Salhaney, we celebrate a life lived with passion, a heart given freely to others, and a journey marked by an unwavering commitment to family, friends, and the pursuit of happiness. Bobby's memory will continue to inspire and comfort us, as we hold him close in our hearts forever.

Services will be private for the family.
