Marilyn Helen Sylvester

Marilyn Helen Sylvester, 85 of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Born January 20, 1940, in Valley Stream, New York, Marilyn was the fourth child of Alfred and Anna Miesemer. Marilyn was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family brought her the greatest joy.
Marilyn graduated from Central High School on Long Island, New York, and worked as a secretary for the New York Telephone Company, where she met Robert. The couple married on December 3, 1976, they honeymooned in Florida and started a new life together in the Sunshine State.
After early retirement from AT&T, Marilyn enjoyed playing cards with friends, family and traveling. Her passion was cruising with her husband, and together they received a special certificate for having sailed aboard 147 Princess Cruises around the world.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Robert Sylvester; three daughters Cathy Ann Seguine, Cindy Sue Hoblick (Jeff), and Linda Lee Smith (Jimmy). Marilyn's legacy includes eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; Joseph (Marissa) children Shayna, Franki, Ashtyn Seguine; Jonathan (Tiffany) children Alexander and Madison Seguine; Kelsey (Andrew) children Adalyn, Andrew, Virginia, Emma Barnett, Charlie Hoblick, Jack Hoblick; Ashley (Alex) child Sadie Martin, Auburn Smith, Kellie (Anthony) Gonzales; Marilyn's brothers Richard Miesemer and Russell Miesemer; sister Karen Weingart and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Anna Miesemer; eldest brother Alfred Miesemer; her children's father John Brommer Jr; and son-in-law Roy J. Seguine.
Marilyn will be remembered most for her love of family, devotion to those she held dear, and the joy she brought into any room. Her enduring spirit, warmth, and laughter will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A family hosted Celebration of Life will be held Saturday December 20, 2025 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Deleon Springs, 4995 Central Avenue Deleon Springs, Florida 32310 officiated by Pastor Shaun Miles. All are welcome to attend the celebration of life for Marilyn.
