Marilyn used her Russian/German heritage to the best of her ability and for the benefit of all who knew her and for the many service projects she entered. She was a true historian for the CHS Class of '62 and her family. There were hundreds of stories she shared lighting up a room with smiles or praising good deeds of others. Many were recorded but the most memorable were those she told in person. One story would lead to another and before long, Marilyn had included everyone within ear shot with one or more of her recollections.
She and John were a great Tag Team. Some times they had their own projects and hobbies and other times they shared. Their yard and garden areas were a treat both to view and to have the backstory told by either one of them. They needed their "own garden tools" so either would not be able to work on a outside project without the proper tool. When they decided who was doing what, get out of the way--things were about to happen and the results we all enjoyed as you sat on the deck looking at the yard or having the latest "tour" of the massive yard knowing you were going to get the life and history of each plant, bush or flower. Again, the stories were fun to hear!
She and John were the keepers of the Class of '62 banner which flew at many reunions and get-togethers. At one of the last Reunions held at the Leavenworth Golf Course, the tag team of John and Marilyn was in fine form. Rollie and I were assisting Marilyn and John with placing the banner properly at the entrance to the golf course parking area. Marilyn and John were busy suggesting where and how the banner was to be displayed. Finally Marilyn had the banner in the right position but John said "NO" it needs to be higher! Guess what, with John's very long wing span, that banner got positioned higher and all four or us smiled at a job well done.

Marilyn cared about her classmates to the extent of clipping and scrapbooking their special events throught her life. She always served on all of the class reunion committees and will be greatly missed!

Marilyn and I were neighbors on Flowery Divide. Our parents were good friends annd neighbors. Our families went fishing together in Puget Sound. I remember that Marilyn and I each held up fish that were practically as big as we were! We walked back-and-forth to the bus together and were in a bluebird group with other classmates. Marilyn was particularly devoted to keeping our 1962 class in touch with each other, and was a key organizer for several class reunions.
