Marilyn Jo Tuso, 73, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on August 5, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Brassie Samuel and Sara Marie (Canatella) Tuso.
Marilyn attended the Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis. She was an active member of the Missouri Council of the Blind throughout her life. She had a deep love for sports and was an avid supporter of the Lady Bears basketball team, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs. She also found great joy in music and played the piano. Marilyn was actively involved in her church, National Avenue Assembly of God, Springfield, Missouri. She cherished conversations with friends and spent many hours talking on the phone with those she held dear.
Marilyn shared 34 wonderful years with her significant other, Gene Bickel, who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her daughter, Carla Fogel; brothers, Jim and his wife, Rosalie, and Larry and his wife, Nancy Tuso. She is preceded in passing by her parents, and one brother, Frank.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd., in Springfield, Missouri. Pastor James Cookson will officiate the service.
Marilyn's warmth and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
