Marilyn, age 85, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on July 31, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 15, 1938, at Mercy Hospital to the late James and Hilda (Lobsinger) Cuthbert. She married Benjamin V. Zelek in Bay City May 4, 1968, celebrating 33 years of marriage before his passing on March 19, 2002. Marilyn's hobbies throughout life were sewing clothes, crafting, gardening, farming, polka festivities, shopping for clothes, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her five children: Sam and Keyna Leonard of Kansas, Douglas and Ashley Leonard of Bay City, Ann Marie Zelek of Chelsea, Vincent Zelek (Angela Michels) of Kawkawlin, Charles and Jonda Zelek of Pinconning, 10 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a brother Ron and Doris Cuthbert of Bay City, and 4 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Pinconning Chapel, with Kathy Bersano presiding, with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Family will greet family and friends Thursday from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Friday, from 10:00 am until time of service.
