Marino Perfetti, 89, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at The Connecticut Hospice with his loving family by his side. Marino was born in Pietracamela, Province of Teramo, Italy on November 21, 1935, and was the son of the late Maggiorino (Joseph) and Luigina Franchi Perfetti. Marino emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1949 and quickly assimilated to American customs. He played baseball, basketball and tennis in his youth. He loved to dance and even earned a spot on Connecticut's version of American Bandstand. As a young man, he frequented the pool and poker rooms of the world, playing with the likes of Jackie Gleason and Peter Falk. In 1972, he met his loving wife of 52 years, Silvia Catini Perfetti. He founded Marino Ceramic Tile & Marble Co. and was a master of his trade. As a member of the Sons of Italy, he played in and won many bocce tournaments. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always ready to socialize. Above all, Marino was a devoted husband, father and poppy whose family meant everything to him. Beloved father of Louise Durante Kendall (Jesse), Marino Perfetti (Joyce). Cherished grandfather of James, Jack, Aria and Nicolas. Marino is also survived by his brother Anthony Perfetti (Shirley).
The visiting hours will be on Monday morning, December 16, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church/St. Paul VI Parish, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden at Noon. A committal service will immediately follow the Mass in the All Saints Mausoleum, North Haven.
