Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, Inc.Mario Genzano, 93, was born on January 28,1932 in Limatola, Italy. He was the son of Pietro and Concetta (DeMaio) Genzano. He survived the perils of World War II and continued his journey to America from Italy. He settled in Camden, New Jersey in 1956 and established a residential general contracting company. In 1972 he took his family to Henryville, PA where he re-established his residential general contracting company. Mario enjoyed hunting. Mario spent his final years in Albany, New York which, interestingly, was a place his parents had lived in their early years of marriage. In addition to his lengthy career, Mario served in the Italian Army before moving to America. In later years, while living in the Poconos, he was a devoted member of St.Bernadette’s Roman Catholic Church and a volunteer in his neighborhood as a board member/ President of the homeowner’s association. Mario departed this world on December 1,2025 to join his beloved wife, Palmira, in heaven. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Antonio, Joseph, Andrew, Salvatore, Amelia, Filomena, Genoveffa and Francisco, as well as his son-in-law, Chester Sebring. Mario is survived by his daughter Concetta Sebring, son Emilio Genzano, grandchildren Mario Genzano and Benjamin Sebring and Emilio Jr., Joseph and Maria Genzano and three greatgrandchildren, Mario Jr., Jace and Eastyn Genzano as well as many nieces and nephews. We will gather to celebrate his life during a viewing held at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home in Stroudsburg, PA on December 15, 2025 from 11:15am to 1:15pm. Immediately after the viewing, he will be entombed with his late wife in Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the RNA Institute or Downs Syndrome Association of Central Florida in honor of Mario’s grandson and great granddaughter.
