Jackie L. Schlomer, 77 of Sciota, passed away on November 29, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Pocono surrounded by family. He was the husband of Elda J. (Rollison) Schlomer, they were married December 15, 1973.
Born May 21, 1948 in Newark, New Jersey, the son of the late John William and Ruth (Weld) Schlomer. He was a resident of Monroe County since 1989 and prior to that of Great Meadows, New Jersey.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Neola United Methodist Church in Neola, PA.
Prior to his retirement he worked for the New Jersey State Forest Service at the Worthington State Forest for over 40 years. He then continued to work seasonally at Worthington up until 2025.
In his youth he worked on farms, and drive truck. He loved tinkering with motorcycles and cars. He loved helping his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 2 daughters, Angela Lee Schlomer of Hamilton Township, Kimberlee Rose Zateeny of Hamilton Township; his grandchildren Becca, Bobbie, Franklin, Adam, Luke and Evan. Great grandchildren Levi, Drew, Jesse, Amelia and Evelyn.
He is also survived by his siblings; Barbara and Toby Whitlock, Linda and Mike Simmons, Sharon and Pat Housel, Gerald Schlomer and his late wife Judith, Scott and Debbie Schlomer, Karen and Mike Buonomo and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Jesse Lee Schlomer and his brother William Schloemer.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 1:30pm with Neola United Methodist Church's retired Pastor Paul Milligan officiating with a viewing from 12pm to the time of service at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home 401 N 5th St, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Cremation will follow and burial of his cremated remains will be at the convenience of the family in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Neola United Methodist Church 107 Voige Lane, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
