Mario Guerrera, 81, of Oakville, entered into the gates of heaven on Friday, February 21, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Pasquariello) Guerrera for 58 years.
Mario was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy on October 1, 1943 a son of the late Nicola and Lupangela (Guerrera) Guerrera. He worked as a tool maker for Anchor Fasteners for 22 years and after for Timken Corp. for 16 years, retiring in 2006. He was a former member of the Pontelandolfo Community Club. He enjoyed making wine and working in his garden. During the winter months, Mario cherished going down to Florida and spending time walking the beach.
Besides his wife Maria of Oakville, Mario leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Sergio Guerrera and his wife, Vania of Watertown, CT and Mark Guerrera and his wife, Megan of Scituate, MA, three grandchildren, Luca Guerrera and twins, William and Olivia Guerrera, brother, Salvatore Guerrera and his wife Maria of Pontelandolfo, Italy, sister-in-law, Rita Guerrera of Pontelandolfo, Italy and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Liliano Guerrera.
Arrangements: A calling hour for Mario will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the wake at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Holy Disciples Parish in Oakville at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow the Mass at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum.
