Mario Martinez

Mario Martinez, age 89, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York City, Mario moved to Tampa, Florida, at the age of 14, a place he would proudly call home for the rest of his life.
Mario honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career as an air conditioning technician with Sears, where he worked for 31 years. Known for his strong work ethic, steady kindness, and generous spirit, Mario touched the lives of many throughout his career and community.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Mary Frances; his daughter, Michelle Larson (Randy); granddaughters Danielle Larson (Ryan) and Jessica Kimbel (Jake); and great grandchildren Sydney Suggs, Olivia Suggs, Ryan Taylor, and Jase Kimbel. He is also survived by his brother in law E. D. "Buddy" Williams; niece Julie Meyer (Paul); and nephew Lamar Williams (Toni).
Mario was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael David Martinez.
Mario was a devout husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He lived his Catholic faith with humility and devotion. Last rites were given by Father Tom Coover, bringing comfort to him and his family.
Mario's final resting place will be New Hope Cemetery in Brandon, Florida. A funeral service will be held at a later date.
He will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his gentle strength, and the legacy of warmth and devotion he leaves behind.
