Mario Pacheco, late of Calumet City, passed from this world on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. Born on July 14, 1944, Mario's life was a tapestry woven with love, service, and passion.

Mario is survived by his beloved wife Josephine Pacheco (nee Hnatusko), who stood by him through all of life's seasons. Their bond, enriched by years of companionship, stands as a testament to their love. He is also cherished by his children Natasha (Matthew Poirier) Pacheco and Michael A. Pacheco. The legacy of his caring and nurturing spirit shines brightly through his grandchildren: Ava, Aidan, Ashton, and Avianna, who will carry forth his values and memories. Mario is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Victoria (Armando) Olivo, Charles Pacheco, Alice (John) Villar, Gloria Alicea, Martin Pacheco and Toni (Robert) Considine, alongside numerous nieces and nephews who will hold onto their shared moments with him dearly.

In his passing, Mario reunites with those who predeceased him, including his parents, Charles and Mary, and his brother, Charles "Chuck." Each of them played a pivotal role in shaping the man he became, and their absence serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring ties of family.

Mario was a proud and honorable member of the U.S. Navy, he dedicated a significant chapter of his life to the defense of his country. His service reflected not just bravery, but also a deep commitment to the ideals of freedom and democracy that he cherished.

He was renowned among family and friends as an ardent supporter of the Chicago Bears, his enthusiasm for the team mirroring his passions for other pursuits. A lover of bowling, an ardent aficionado of sports, and a musician at heart, he found joy in playing multiple instruments. These interests were not just pastimes; they were expressions of his vibrant spirit, which resonated in everything he did

As the family gathers to celebrate his remarkable life, they reflect on a man who was not only a passionate fan, a veteran, and a talented musician but also a devoted family man whose love and laughter will echo through the halls of their hearts forever. Mario Pacheco leaves behind not only memories but a legacy of love that will live on in the stories shared by those who cherished him.
