Mario Piluso

WESTERLY - Mario Piluso, 92 of Narragansett Avenue, Westerly, passed away at the Westerly Rehab & Healthcare Center on May 8th. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Groccia) Piluso.

He was born in Luzzi, Italy the son of the late Rafael and Josephine Piluso. Mario served for three years in the Italian Army and was employed in manufacturing at Arwood for many years. He was a communicant of the Church of Immaculate Conception and an avid gardener who was very proud of his crops.

Besides his wife, Mario leaves his son Ralph (Karen) Piluso of North Stonington, CT; two brothers, Antonio Piluso and Silvio Piluso both of Italy; two sisters, Elvira Corina of Westerly and Angelina Zavatta of Italy: as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by nine siblings.

The family would like to express special thanks to the entire staff at Westerly Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center as well as to Harmony Hospice for the great care which was provided.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 PM, in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 AM, at the Church of Immaculate Conception, 111 High Street, Westerly. Burial will take place immediately following in St. Sebastian Cemetery,12 Cobblestone Lane, Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church.
