Marion Crocker, age 83, passed away Wednesday, August 13th at her home after a long battle with dementia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Crocker, and her sister, Selma (Thileen) Gill. Marion was the daughter of Ralph and Lois (Samuels) Thileen. Marion was raised in Concord and attended Concord High School. It was there she George and began dating. After graduation, while George was serving his country in the Navy she traveled extensively both domestically and internationally. Marion enjoyed reminiscing about the places she visited and when the opportunities arose for her kids and grandkids, she encouraged them to do the same and see the world.
Marion and George married in 1965 and settled in Maynard to raise their family. There they purchased a house on Taylor Rd, this remained home until her passing. Marion and George have 3 children, Pam, John, and Suzie. Marion loved being a mother, and then grandmother. She always said it was her greatest gift to have kids, and family was always most important to her.
Marion was a stay-at-home mom but always had side hustles to make money, cleaning houses, working in school cafeterias. She wasn't someone that could sit idle very long. As her family grew up, she went back to work full time working at the Paper Store for over 25 years as the "Hallmark Lady". Even after her retirement she remained active, you could often see her puttering in the yard. She had a smile on her face and was happy to greet anyone passing by.
Marion's favorite place was the camp on Squam Lake in New Hampshire. It was where she vacationed as a kid and enjoyed that she was able to share this special place with her children and grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her 3 children, Pamela Reiniger of Maynard, John Crocker and his wife Michelle of Lancaster, and Suzanne Crocker of Gardner. She was the cherished grandmother to Richard, Olivia, Nicholas, Ashley and Jack.
A visitation will be held in the Acton Funeral Home on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am, with the funeral service immediately following in the funeral home.
