Published by Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - North on Nov. 11, 2004.
Marion Frances Duckworth died peacefully at the age of 90 on Thursday, November 11, 2004. She was born November 8, 1914 to Hallie and Walter Dean Caldwell in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Marion lived many places during her early years, including Amarillo, Brenham and Beverly Hills, California. She met her husband Roy in San Diego, California and they moved to the Walnut Bayou Plantation where her three sons were born. The plantation was part of a land grant given to her great-grandfather, Colonel DeWitt Clinton Giddings for building the railroad from Brenham to Hempstead, Texas. The town of Giddings was subsequently named for Marion’s great-grandfather. She and her family moved to Austin in 1963. Marion was fortunate to have been able to travel throughout much of the world during her life. Marion was preceded in death by her husband Roy Duckworth and her daughter Zoe Stufano. She is survived by her three sons, Roy Duckworth and his wife Melissa, Lindsey Caldwell Duckworth, and Clinton Giddings Duckworth, all of Austin. She has seven grandchildren; Clay Duckworth and his wife Mollie, Katharine Duckworth, Leland Duckworth, Tom Stufano, Michael Stufano, Chris Stufano and Lisa Stufano. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2004 at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd Building Fund, 2205 Moffett, Austin, Texas 78731. Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin, TX 78705 - (512) 452-8811. You may view memorials online at wcfish.com

I was best friends with Zoe. I remember Mrs Mathis feeding baby Roy concentrated orange juice., straight from the can. She did not know better. Marion had a fit.

I lived across the hiway from The Walnut Bayou Plantation, and stayed at Zoe's home as much as mine. Life was wonderful.

My sincere sympathy to all of the family. I so well remember the boys birth, and how excited we all were, and especially Roy and Marion.

My deepest sympathy,
