Long time resident of Roanoke, Marion Pinnell Hamner died on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Lewis H. Hamner, III, (Tom) of Atlanta, GA, and Lee Rodgers Hamner (Beth) of Macon, GA; three grandchildren, Nicholas Pinnell Hamner (Ashton), Jessica Hamner Blackburn (Matt), and Hampton Lee Hamner; brother-in-law, Dr. Bennie R. Hamner (Vickie) of Montgomery; and six-great-grandchildren, Logan Blackburn, Porter Blackburn, Lillian Hamner, Lincoln Hamner, Blake Reese and Braylin Reese. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Pinnell; her husband, Judge Lewis H. Hamner, Jr.; and son, Jodie Pinnell Hamner.

A Camp Hill, Alabama native, Mrs. Hamner was born April 17, 1928. She and her husband Lewis moved to Roanoke, Alabama in 1953 where he was an Attorney and she, the public school music teacher for Handley schools and Glee Club director. She taught private piano until she retired. She was an active member of Roanoke First Baptist Church, Roanoke Literary Club, Silhouette Club, and several bridge clubs. Marion was also the wedding director in Roanoke for many years.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Roanoke on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Scott Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday before services begin.

Pallbearers will be Thomas McMurray, Johnnie Williams, Chris Daniel, Wayne Tobin, Lew Burdette, Frank Hodges, and Shawn Watkins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Roanoke (827 Main Street, Roanoke, AL 36274).
