Marion Martha Ryan

Marion Martha Ryan, age 93, of Oshkosh, formerly of Berlin, died peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Country Villa in Omro.

She was born September 12, 1932, in Berlin, the daughter of Herman and Hilda Abel Viertel. She was a 1950 graduate of Berlin High School. On November 26, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert Ryan. Marion worked at Wisconsin Power & Light Co, Berlin Memorial Hospital and retired as an auditor at First National Bank in Berlin, after more than 20 years. Her great-grandchildren were the most important people in her life and she remembered them on every holiday!

Marion is survived by her two daughters, Beth Bartol (Dave Ferris) and Julie Ryan; four grandchildren, Cody (Dani) Bartol, Cullan Bartol, Cal (Sarah) Bartol and Kiley (Jake) Olejnik; six great-grandchildren, Betty Rose, Leo, Ellis and Ty Bartol, Walker and Wrenley Olejnik; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, on Nov. 5, 2016; brother, Harold "Bud" (Pat) Viertel; and two sisters, Irene (Richard) Thormahlen and Lorraine "Toni" Viertel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Rebekah Tarras officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
