SMITH- Mr. Marion Hunter "Butch" Smith, Jr. age 83 of West Rankin Street Brewton, Alabama passed away Friday September 12, 2025 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and long time resident of Mobile, Alabama before moving to Brewton, Alabama. Mr. Smith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Brewton, Alabama, a graduate of Murphy High School, and the University of South Alabama, a U.S. Airforce veteran, and he was a retired CPA from the State of Alabama with 24 years of service. Butch was a member of the American Institute of CPA'S, the Alabama Society of CPA's, and a former President and member of the Brewton Lions Club. He enjoyed cooking and wood working.

Survivors:

(1) Son- Deke (Linda) Smith of Nashville, Tennessee

(1) Daughter- Kimberly Smith of Franklin, Tennessee

(1) Brother- Donald Smith

(2) Grandchildren- Karl Hunter (Zhen Zhenshi) Smith

Katherine Smith (Grant) Andersen

***Preceded in death by: Parents- M.H., Sr. and Alice Bawden Smith

Wife- Catherine Lees Smith

Brother- James Smith

Sister-Barbara Smith

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral home in Brewton, Alabama.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday September 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Union Cemetery with Rev. Shane Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery Brewton, Alabama with WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME DIRECTING.
