Marion Carol Smith

Marion Carol Smith, 73, of Corunna, Michigan, passed away on February 9, 2026.

Marion was born on December 21, 1952, in Owosso, Michigan, to Donald and Wilma Tinklepaugh. A proud graduate of Corunna High School, she was honored as the Salutatorian of the Class of 1971. She continued her education at John Wesley College in Owosso. On November 1, 1975, Marion married her beloved husband, David, at St. Paul's Church in Flint, Michigan. The ceremony held special significance as it was officiated by David's father. Together, Marion and David built a life centered on trust, devotion, and family.

Marion dedicated many years of service to the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her reliability and warm personality. Outside of her career, she was endlessly creative and rarely inactive. Marion had a deep love for crafts and collecting antique sewing machines, and her collection of 15 cuckoo clocks. She always kept her hands and heart busy. She poured her heart into her family in countless thoughtful ways and found joy and peace in nature. Marion was jovial, happy, outgoing, selfless, caring, and wonderfully funny. Her warmth and creativity touched everyone who knew her.

Marion is survived by her beloved husband, David; her sons, Timothy Smith Sr., Peter Smith, and Andrew (Sarah Zuker) Smith; five grandchildren; her sister, Marti Haist; and one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Norma and Donnee.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
