Marion R. Woodlief

KITTRELL- Marion Inez Roberson Woodlief, 86, of West Church Street, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at her home. Born September 8, 1939 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Lee Mayes Roberson and William Lee Roberson. Marion worked in various positions with many local businesses including Penny Furniture Company and Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Outside of public employment, she was a homemaker who loved kids, not only her four biological children but also the many she fostered for more than 14 years. Marion was a founding member and attendee of New Hope Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Henry Abbott. Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Marion is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Elton Woodlief of the home; three daughters, Lisa Miller and husband, Larry of Smithfield, Julie Moseley and husband, Mike of Wise and Tammy Austin and husband, Keith of Kittrell; her son, Randy Woodlief of Kittrell; eight grandchildren, Johnathan Moseley, Michael Moseley, Marissa Moseley, Dana Tuck and husband, Scott, Magan Lee and husband, Matt Beyer, Najvar Woodlief, Charlie Woodlief and Alex Woodlief; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Edith Blake-Whitbey, Ruth Gunter, Margaret Hicks, Ellen Richardson, and Sandy Mangum; two brothers, Larry Roberson and Andy Roberson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Bowden and Felcie Whitbey; five brothers, Dennis Roberson, William Roberson, Jr., Sidney Roberson, Ricky Roberson and William “Red” Voyles; and her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Woodlief.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. on Monday at J.M. White Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
