It is with profound sorrow and tender remembrance that we announce the unexpected passing of Marisa Greene (Resendiz) on March 8, 2026. Born on February 23, 1997, at Shawnee Mission Medical, Marisa's life, though brief, was filled with love, passion, and an indelible spirit that touched all who knew her.
Marisa was the cherished daughter of Mary and Rolondo Resendiz, whose nurturing love and guidance helped shape her into the compassionate and vibrant woman she became. She was a beloved sister to Gabriela, with whom she shared countless memories and an unbreakable bond.
In a celebration of love, Marisa married her soulmate, Brandon Greene, on February 22, 2025. Their union was a testament to true partnership and devotion. Together, they welcomed their precious daughter, Elyana, who quickly became the center of Marisa's world. Recently becoming a stay-at-home mom, Marisa embraced this role with unwavering dedication, reveling in every moment spent with Elyana.
Marisa's life was marked by her passions and her principles. A devoted and enthusiastic metalhead, she found joy in the energy of local concerts, where she connected with others who shared her love for music. Her political convictions were strong and deeply rooted; she was a fervent advocate for immigrant rights and was unafraid to voice her beliefs, particularly her opposition to the political climate of her time. Despite these strong views, Marisa was known for her kindness and acceptance, offering warmth and understanding to everyone she encountered.
Her love for the outdoors and spending time with family was a reflection of her appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Whether she was enjoying a sunny afternoon in the park or a quiet evening at home, Marisa found beauty in every moment.
The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Marisa's legacy will live on through her daughter, Elyana, and the many lives she touched with her beautiful soul and generous spirit.
In a heartfelt message from her family, they express: "We love you so much, beautiful. You are my world and will always be. Life isn't ever going to feel right without you here, but I will always do everything in my power to make sure our daughter's life is the best I can possibly make it. I know you would have wanted the best for her, and she was our world. Now she is my world ."
Marisa Greene will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her, guiding and inspiring them as they carry her memory forward.
