Marissa Lemus Obituary

Marissa Dawn Millsaps Lemus, lovingly known as "Rissy" or "Rissy Roo" in her childhood, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at the age of 34.
Born and raised in Robbinsville, N.C., Marissa's life was a testament to her vibrant spirit and unwavering love for family.
She was the daughter of Travis Millsaps and Linda Phillips Parton. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joey Parton.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Crescencio Lemus Villatoro; Marissa's greatest joy, her three children: Brayden, Khloe, and Brianna, all of the home. They were the center of her world and she poured her heart into raising them. As a mom, she devoted herself to their well-being. Her children were always by her side.
Marissa's love and dedication to them were evident in every aspect of her life.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: Tyler Millsaps, Cassandra Millsaps and Lindsay Millsaps.
As a child, Marissa was a spirted tomboy who loved the outdoors – especially fishing – and enjoyed spending time with all her cousins. She played basketball, loved all kinds of music, played the clarinet in her youth and had a lifelong passion for sneakers and style – always taking pride in how she presented herself.
Throughout her life, Marissa faced numerous challenges and adversity – yet her resilience and compassion remained unwavering. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and often went out of her way to support family, friends and neighbors – even when she didn't have much herself.
Marissa's legacy is one of unwavering love, remarkable strength and an enduring compassion that touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her children, mother, siblings, family and friends, who will forever cherish her warmth, her laugh, her generosity and the profound impact she had on their lives.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Harold Beasley officiated.
Burial followed in the Williams Family Cemetery. The family received friends from noon – 1 p.m., at the chapel, prior to the service.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home was honored to serve the Millsaps-
Lemus family.
